- Recommend automated approaches to system administration where applicable * Manage daily system monitoring and design guidelines around daily backup operations * Monitor WAN connectivity for offices, buildings
- Answer phone and emails for assistance
- Track, analyze and report on network statistics
- Create, update and close trouble tickets
- Create, update and close Outage Notification forms
- Configure, troubleshoot and maintain switches, routers, firewalls
- Equipment setup process training as required for new users
- Create user accounts, computer accounts, group mailboxes, and distribution list
- Manage inventory of equipment, inventory of licenses, and list of release information for reporting.
- Assess server loads and work with technical leads to develop tuning recommendation
- Conduct server builds and conduct operation and maintenance
- Coordinate server installations
- Create change requests
- Create or update asset management records and maintain responsibility for integrity of asset management records
- Create requests for service from external and internal service providers
- Ensure build procedures are feasible, clear and concise
- Perform technical evaluations, analysis and troubleshooting for supported servers in response to help desk tickets
- Perform operating system software updates/upgrades
- Respond to assigned change requests that are submitted by 'internal' and 'external' customers
- Restore file and data information
- Request hardware replacements
- Submit Build Reports for routine deliveries
- Provide on-call support
- Identification and resolution of hardware and software problems/malfunctions in client IT infrastructure, including production, staging, QA, and development
- Review daily log files, report unusual log activity to appropriate personnel, monitor system and network performance and take corrective action as required
- Provide first, second and/or third level support to customer initiated trouble tickets and assist in resolving firewall, DNS, E-mail or other network issues
- Apply software application and operating systems patches and updates to address security vulnerabilities on managed systems
- Perform backup and/or restore operations on all systems administered
- Participate in the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) encompassing all Network Operation activity
- Perform testing, installation and assist in the certification and accreditation of networks
- Assess the security risk of proposed firewall modifications and implement changes as approved
- Provide input to the monthly status report
- Research and evaluate new versions of applicable hardware and software

- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in computer science or information technology or equivalent work experience
